2016年9月23日-25日，第五届全国大气压等离子体及应用研讨会在中国科学院等离子体物理研究所举办。来自中国科学技术大学、大连理工大学、西安交通大学等近10家单位的80位同行及专家与会。中国科学院等离子体物理研究所所长万宝年致欢迎词。
2016年3月29日至4月1日，美国等离子体输运Task Force专题研讨会在美国科罗拉多州丹佛召开。来自中国、美国、日本等国家高校、科研单位的上百名实验与理论模拟专家学者与会。此次会议共11个大会特邀报告，56个墙报报告，设立了非线性台基湍流、高能粒子、三维效应、多尺度集成等9个工作组，各工作组共计28个口头报告。
为了进一步弘扬和传承老一辈科学家的科学思想，增进研究所青年职工和学生的学术交流，开阔学术视野，激发科研管理与服务的新思想、新理念，福建物质结构研究所于2012年11月22日举办了首届卢嘉锡青年论坛。本次论坛以“传承与跨越相随，青春与创新同行”为宗旨，以“学术与学风”为主题，邀请物构所35周岁以下的青年职工和学生交流与共享近期的学术研究成果，探讨科研支撑和管理服务工作的经验与思路。
