青藏高原巨大的抬升地形可接收大量太阳辐射，形成独特的热力干扰源，对区域大气循环和亚洲季风进程产生重要影响。青藏高原热力作用主要通过地表和大气之间能量和水分的交换过程实现。然而，青藏高原极端严酷的自然环境条件和复杂多样的下垫面状况，使得青藏高原地气之间水热通量交换的时空变化规律存在诸多不确定性。
