借助卫星观测数据,美国研究人员揭示了太阳风与地球磁场“交锋”后在电子尺度发生的能量转化过程,为地球磁场保护地球大气免遭太阳风“伤害”提供了新证据。太阳风是太阳上层大气射出的带电粒子流。地球绕太阳旋转过程中,会穿过太阳风。太阳风与地球磁场相遇处会形成激波,被称为弓形激波,看起来就像破浪前进的摩托艇前方形成的弓形波浪。
